A Class 12 student in Hyderabad, Aagam Jain, has developed SummitSathi, a satellite-based weather receiver that downloads cloud images without internet or mobile networks. Each unit costs about Rs 68,000, and three are planned for 10 villages in Himachal Pradesh's Seraj Valley. Three local operators have been trained, though the device does not replace official weather warnings.
