Putin says India interested in Arctic Northern Sea Route

Russian President Vladimir Putin said India and China are among countries showing interest in cooperating on the Northern Sea Route (NSR), an Arctic shipping corridor. Speaking aboard the missile cruiser Varyag, he warned of rising 'artificial tensions' in the Arctic, amid Western sanctions over Ukraine. Russia is promoting the NSR as an alternative trade route between Europe and Asia.
