Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the arrest of a Russian citizen on August 7 for allegedly planning to kill an American of Ukrainian origin in Warsaw. Tusk said the target was considered "inconvenient to the Putin regime" and that the plot was prevented at the last minute. He called it a "very dangerous signal" and the first known Russian-ordered attack on a US citizen in a NATO country.
