Mexico is sending its first blind women's football team, Chilangas FC, to the Women's Blind Football American Championship in Brazil next month. Founded by coach Wendy del Rio in 2020, the team aims to provide a space for female athletes with visual impairments, who previously had no opportunities to play. The sport is not yet part of the Paralympics, limiting its development.
