Extinct ancient birth control plant rediscovered in Turkey

A Turkish professor believes he has found silphium, a plant used by ancient Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians for medicine and contraception, on Mount Hasan in Turkey. The plant, extinct for 2,000 years, was once as valuable as silver and was last documented by Pliny the Elder.
