El Niño likely to be strongest in living memory, Met Office warns

The UK Met Office warns the developing El Niño is likely to be the strongest in living memory, potentially making 2027 the hottest year on record. Sea surface temperatures in the Pacific are already over 2C above normal, with forecasts exceeding 3C.
