Viking King Behind Bluetooth Name Honored in Jelling

The name Bluetooth comes from 10th-century Viking king Harald Gormsson, who unified Denmark and Norway and converted the Danes to Christianity. Two runestones in Jelling, Denmark, tell his story and inspired the wireless technology's codename in the 1990s. The Jelling monuments became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994.
