Adhir Chowdhury invites Mamata Banerjee to merge TMC with Congress

Senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Thursday urged Mamata Banerjee to merge the Trinamool Congress into the Congress with her remaining MLAs and MPs, offering to accept her leadership in West Bengal. The appeal follows TMC's 2026 Assembly defeat and rebellions in its legislative and parliamentary wings. TMC MP Sougata Roy said the party would consider a formal proposal from Congress leadership.
