JPC Shelves Supreme Court Visit on One Nation, One Election

A Joint Parliamentary Committee examining the 'One Nation, One Election' bills has shelved its proposed October 6 visit to the Supreme Court, chairman PP Chaudhary said, citing scheduling conflicts. The visit drew Opposition objections over separation of powers, with Kapil Sibal calling it unconstitutional. The committee is scrutinising two bills introduced in December 2024 to enable simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly polls.
