France will close more than 400 schools on Friday after student protests over teacher shortages and poor buildings turned violent nationwide. Justice Minister Gerald Darmanin said 2,000 people have been arrested since the unrest began, with about two-thirds in custody. Protesters set fires at schools and clashed with police in several cities.
