Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on October 4 that Bhadohi district will again be called Sant Ravidas Nagar Bhadohi, the fifth name change since the district was carved out of Varanasi in 1994. He also announced 112 development projects worth over Rs 1,340 crore. The move comes as the BJP intensifies outreach to Scheduled Caste voters ahead of the 2027 assembly elections.
