Yemen's internationally recognised government has announced a major military campaign to retake all Houthi-held territory, after weeks of heavy fighting and Houthi advances along the Red Sea coast and around Taiz. Government forces claim gains near Bab al-Mandab, though the Houthis deny the announcement. More than 100,000 people have been displaced since a 2022 truce collapsed in July.
