President Donald Trump has approved the execution by US Army firing squad of Nidal Hasan, convicted of killing 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009, the Pentagon said. Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, was sentenced to death in 2013. His execution would be the first by the US military since 1961.
