Finland Halts Google Data Centre Work Over Forest Clearance

Finnish authorities ordered a halt to preparatory work at two planned Google data centres in Muhos and Kajaani, citing the clearance of over 300 hectares of forest without a mandatory environmental impact assessment. The sites are part of Google's €13bn investment in Finland. Google said it "fell short" of its standards and will follow guidance.
