Pedro Alliana was sworn in as Paraguay's president on Friday after the Senate impeached Santiago Peña over the collapse of Ueno Bank. Peña was placed under house arrest on suspicion of breach of trust. The bank's seizure left nearly three million customers without access to accounts or pensions. Alliana, 52, will serve until 2028.
