Britain has deployed 20 concrete reef cubes, along with 4,000 mature oysters, 35,000 juveniles, and 44 tons of scallop shells, off England's northeast coast to restore native oyster habitats. Native oyster numbers have fallen by over 95% since the 1800s, and the project aims to rebuild a collapsed ecosystem.
