President Droupadi Murmu approved 78 gallantry awards, including 13 posthumous, for defence and central armed police personnel on the eve of the 80th Independence Day. The list includes nine Kirti Chakras, 19 Shaurya Chakras, and 36 Sena Medals, among others. Seven Kirti Chakras were awarded posthumously.
