Kanpur DEO Rejects Viral EVM Claim Ahead of UP Polls

The District Election Officer of Kanpur Nagar dismissed a social media claim that 12 engineers brought 5,000 EVMs to the district ahead of Uttar Pradesh elections, calling it factually incorrect and misleading. The DEO said First Level Checking of EVMs began September 17 in the presence of recognised political party representatives, with no machines brought from elsewhere.
