Meloni vows to ban burqas and niqabs in Italian schools

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced plans to ban burqas and niqabs in schools and cap foreign students per class, speaking at her Brothers of Italy party's youth festival in Rome. The proposals, which also require Italian language lessons for parents, need parliamentary approval within 60 days. Immigration is expected to dominate next year's general election.
