An injured brown pelican walked about half a kilometre to a NOAA marine research facility in Panama City, Florida, and pecked on a glass door until researchers responded. The bird had a fishing line and treble hook lodged in its right wing and cactus spines in its left foot. Biologists treated it in about five minutes before releasing it.
