UK Joins EU Ocean Science Scheme to Improve Extreme Weather Forecasts

Britain will join OceanEye, a €92m EU-led ocean science programme, to better predict extreme weather and climate events. Environment secretary Angela Eagle will announce the move at the UN in New York, alongside EU and Canadian leaders. The UK will share more Met Office data, as scientists warn global ocean monitoring is under strain.
