Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said the judiciary is committed to protecting students' fundamental right to peaceful protest and that courts will not look the other way when it is infringed. Speaking at Chanakya National Law University in Patna, he also defended limited collegium transparency and praised a proposal to shorten the law degree.
