Honolulu teen wins Congressional Award Gold Medal

Jessica Lee, a 17-year-old Punahou School senior from Honolulu, received the Congressional Award Gold Medal in August after completing 420 volunteer hours, mostly in health care and elder support. Congressman Ed Case presented the honor, making her the seventh recipient from his district in 25 years. She founded a cancer health literacy nonprofit and aims to become a physician.
