The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) deferred its three-day nationwide bank strike scheduled for September 28-30 after reaching an understanding with the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) late Sunday. A high-level committee will be formed to discuss declaring remaining Saturdays as holidays and the Performance Linked Incentive scheme for senior officers. The UFBU represents about 90 percent of the banking workforce.
