India's drug regulator CDSCO is reviewing its regulatory framework to stop the illegal diversion of pharmaceutical drugs containing narcotic and psychotropic substances. The move follows a June NCORD meeting chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah, which set a March 2027 deadline to address regulatory gaps. The drugs consultative committee will recommend measures to strengthen oversight.
